Around the world, various sports leagues have versions of a Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, which aims to recognize the player with the best performance in the regular season. Typically, the award is decided through a collective vote usually comprised of the media, players, coaches, front office executives, or any combination of such.
What each voter usually considers/weighs include but are not limited to various statistics (points/assists/rebounds), the relative performance of each candidate's respective team with/without them, and narratives surrounding the players themselves. How someone decides their vote is up to themselves.
